Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CalmBench website and your purchase of our products. By using this site or placing an order you agree to these Terms. They are operated by CalmBench, 1208 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 1C1, Canada.

1. Using our website

You may browse and use this site for lawful, personal purposes. You agree not to misuse it, attempt to disrupt it, or reproduce its content without permission. All text, images, logos and designs remain the property of CalmBench or our licensors.

2. Products & descriptions

We work hard to describe and photograph our products accurately. As our pieces are made by hand from natural materials, slight variations in grain, colour and texture are normal and not defects. Screens may also render colours differently. We may update or discontinue products at any time.

3. Prices & payment

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD $) and exclude applicable taxes and shipping unless stated. Taxes are calculated at checkout based on your delivery province. We may correct any pricing errors and will contact you before charging if a price was clearly wrong.

4. Orders & enquiries

Submitting an order or enquiry is an offer to purchase; a contract forms when we confirm your order by email. We may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item is unavailable or we suspect fraud — and will refund any payment taken.

5. Shipping

We ship across Canada. Orders over $150 ship free and carbon-neutral; smaller orders are a flat $12. Estimated delivery times are guidance, not guarantees, and made-to-order items (such as the Hush Reading Chair) have longer lead times shown on their product pages.

6. The 60-night trial & returns

Most pieces include a 60-night trial. If a piece isn’t right, contact us within 60 nights of delivery for a prepaid return label and a full refund of the item price. Items should be returned in re-sellable condition without significant damage. Certain hygiene items and final-sale products may be excluded; we’ll always tell you before purchase. This trial is in addition to your statutory rights.

7. Warranty

We warrant our furniture against manufacturing defects for the period stated on each product, and offer free repairs on structural joinery for five years from delivery. The warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, or damage from improper care.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, CalmBench is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site or products. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under consumer-protection legislation.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of British Columbia, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your province of residence.
